Ingredients
2 cups All-purpose flour
2 teaspoons Baking powder
1/4 cup Granulated sugar
1 teaspoon Cinnamo
1/2 teaspoon Salt
3/4 cup Milk
1 large Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1 cup Apple, peeled and diced
3 cups Vegetable oil (for frying)
1/2 cup Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt until well combined
- In a separate bowl, combine the milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined
- Gently fold in the diced apples into the batter. Be careful not to overmix!
- In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches about 350°F
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the fritter bites, placing them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. While still warm, dust them generously with powdered sugar
- Serve warm and relish the delightful flavors!
Notes
Make sure your oil is hot enough to prevent greasy fritters. A drop of batter should sizzle upon contact.
Don’t overcrowd the pan while frying; it can lower the oil temperature and result in soggy fritters.
For a healthier version, consider baking them instead of frying.
