Delightful bite-sized treats packed with the flavors of apple fritters, perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a snack.

  • Total Time: 30 mins
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups All-purpose flour
2 teaspoons Baking powder
1/4 cup Granulated sugar
1 teaspoon Cinnamo
1/2 teaspoon Salt
3/4 cup Milk
1 large Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1 cup Apple, peeled and diced
3 cups Vegetable oil (for frying)
1/2 cup Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt until well combined
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined
  3. Gently fold in the diced apples into the batter. Be careful not to overmix!
  4. In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches about 350°F
  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side
  6. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fritter bites, placing them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. While still warm, dust them generously with powdered sugar
  7. Serve warm and relish the delightful flavors!

Notes

Make sure your oil is hot enough to prevent greasy fritters. A drop of batter should sizzle upon contact.

Don’t overcrowd the pan while frying; it can lower the oil temperature and result in soggy fritters.

For a healthier version, consider baking them instead of frying.
