Oven-Fried Feta Rolls with Spicy Chili Honey are crispy and golden rolls filled with creamy feta cheese and fresh herbs, drizzled with a delightful sweet and spicy chili honey. This dish is perfect for busy families and can be customized to suit different tastes.

  • Total Time: 50-60 mins
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

8 ounces Feta cheese
6 sheets Phyllo dough
1/4 cup Olive oil
1 teaspoon Chili flakes
1/4 cup Honey
2 tablespoons Fresh herbs, chopped
Pepper to taste
Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C)
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the feta cheese, chopped herbs, a pinch of pepper, and salt. Mash them together until creamy
  3. Take a sheet of phyllo dough and brush it lightly with olive oil. Layer another sheet on top and brush it agai
  4. Cut the layered dough into strips, about 4 inches wide
  5. Place a tablespoon of the feta mixture at one end of each strip
  6. Fold the edges over to seal the filling and roll them tightly to the other end of the strip
  7. Place the rolls seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  8. Brush the tops of the rolls with more olive oil and sprinkle with additional chili flakes
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy
  10. While the rolls bake, prepare the spicy chili honey by warming honey in a small saucepan and adding chili flakes. Stir until combined
  11. Once the rolls are done, drizzle with the spicy chili honey before serving

Notes

Keep the phyllo dough covered with a damp cloth while you work to prevent it from drying out.

Experiment with different herb combinations for unique flavor variations.

Make sure the feta cheese is well-drained to prevent a watery filling.

You can prepare these rolls up to a day in advance. Just reheat them in the oven before serving for that fresh-baked taste.
