Ingredients
8 ounces Feta cheese
6 sheets Phyllo dough
1/4 cup Olive oil
1 teaspoon Chili flakes
1/4 cup Honey
2 tablespoons Fresh herbs, chopped
Pepper to taste
Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C)
- In a mixing bowl, combine the feta cheese, chopped herbs, a pinch of pepper, and salt. Mash them together until creamy
- Take a sheet of phyllo dough and brush it lightly with olive oil. Layer another sheet on top and brush it agai
- Cut the layered dough into strips, about 4 inches wide
- Place a tablespoon of the feta mixture at one end of each strip
- Fold the edges over to seal the filling and roll them tightly to the other end of the strip
- Place the rolls seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Brush the tops of the rolls with more olive oil and sprinkle with additional chili flakes
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy
- While the rolls bake, prepare the spicy chili honey by warming honey in a small saucepan and adding chili flakes. Stir until combined
- Once the rolls are done, drizzle with the spicy chili honey before serving
Notes
Keep the phyllo dough covered with a damp cloth while you work to prevent it from drying out.
Experiment with different herb combinations for unique flavor variations.
Make sure the feta cheese is well-drained to prevent a watery filling.
You can prepare these rolls up to a day in advance. Just reheat them in the oven before serving for that fresh-baked taste.
