Ingredients
Scale
1 lb Ground beef
1 medium Onion, chopped
1 small Green bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1 cup Shredded cheese (provolone or cheddar)
10–12 pieces Egg roll wrappers
Olive oil for frying
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart into fine pieces as it cooks
- Once the beef is browned, drain excess fat, then add chopped onions, green bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes
- Stir in the shredded cheese until it melts and combines with the meat and vegetables. Season with salt and pepper to taste
- Lay out an egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape and place about 2 tablespoons of the filling in the center
- Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly to seal. Use a dab of water on the edges to help seal the wrappers
- Heat about 2 inches of olive oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium heat until hot
- Carefully fry a few egg rolls at a time until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels
- Let them cool slightly before serving
Notes
Don't overstuff the egg rolls to prevent bursting during frying.
Ensure the oil is hot enough by testing with a small piece of wrapper.
